LAZY DAYS

July 28, 2016

For the past few years I’ve enjoyed a comfy queen size bed.  However, once my second dog arrived, I needed to upgrade. Yes, of course, my dogs sleep with me!  While they prefer the cold tile, occasionally they sprawl out on my bed like it’s their own. So a California king bed became a necessity.  I adore Z Gallerie  where I purchased my new dream bed.  I now have a gorgeous frame, an insanely comfy mattress, the fluffiest comforter and TONS of pillows. I must add, buying a mattress was definitely the hardest big kid decision I’ve made thus far. While I might hit the snooze button some mornings, it was well worth it. There is nothing like a lazy day in bed with my little Ghost!!

BEAT THE HEAT

July 20, 2016

When the temperature rises above 90 degrees in Huntington Beach, I start to melt.  In order to beat the heat, (especially with huskies), out comes the hose, mini pool and ICE CREAM. While I might share my ice cream cone with my doggies, I prefer to make them frozen yogurt treats that they enjoy!

To make these yummy ice cream treats, use store bought waffle cones.  Dip them in melted milk chocolate chips.  I use a mini crock pot.  After dipping the cone in the chocolate, sprinkle crushed graham crackers on top and refrigerate for at least an hour. When chocolate is hardened, add your favorite ice cream and enjoy!!!

THE PARKER

July 9, 2016

I love long weekends where I can travel for 2 hours and have a perfect getaway.  Kayla, a dear high school friend, joined me for this adventure. Destination…The Parker Hotel!  It has always peaked my interest for its unique indoor/outdoor decor. The grounds are fun to meander. Without signs, we were constantly getting lost in gorgeous areas.  We discovered tennis courts, hammocks, croquette, lemonade stands, water fountains, pools, and even a secret garden with white bunnies. While the weather was HOT ( 115 degrees hot!), I can’t wait to return!!!

Unfortunately, I have no photos of the adorable lemonade stand.  However, here are two images from the internet so you can appreciate it!

FOURTH OF JULY

July 6, 2016

The 4th of July has always been my most favorite holiday from childhood (maybe tied with Christmas).  Since it is also close to my dog’s birthday, we have quite the celebration.  On July 2, 2015, Loki (the german-shepard/husky mix), turned 2.  At that time,  I was content with one dog.  However, the second I met Ghost (purebred Siberian husky),  I knew he belonged in my family.  They are now inseparable and keep me entertained.  While Loki shares his birthday with Ghost’s “Gotcha day”, we use the 4th as an excuse to have a grand party for them both.  Yes!  I admit it!  I am a crazy dog mom who loves puppy parties!!

Below I’m sharing photos from the 4th.  I’ve also included one from 2015 to show Ghost’s growth.  I’m amazed at how HUGE he is now!!!!  I am so blessed with my little family and counting down the days till next year’s July 4th celebration.  Thanks to everyone who came out to celebrate.

Happy 3rd Birthday Loki!

Happy 1st “Gotcha day” Ghost!

Happy 240th Birthday America!!!

Best way to end the night, S’mores and a neighborhood fireworks show.

Hope everyone had a safe and memorable 4th of July!
